Kaolin Clay which gets its name from a Chinese southeastern city, where Kaolin was first mined from, and is typically white in colour. Today, Kaolin Clay is mined across the world. It’s chemical name is Kaolinite. The colour of the Kaolin Clay may range from Pink to Purple, depending on where you source the clay from. The properties of each clay may vary a little.
Why The Pink Colour?
As mentioned, the Kaolin Clay has deposits around the world. In Kutch, Gujarat, the Kaolin clay is Pinkish in colour. This is due to the higher Iron content.
